Kate Marshall MD

Geriatric Physician & Internal Medicine Physician

Kate Marshall, MD, is an experienced geriatrics physician at Golden Oak Medicine in Asheville, North Carolina. She is double board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine and offers a wide array of expertise caring for patients aged 55 and older.

Dr. Marshall received her medical doctorate from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed internal medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which consistently ranks in the top 10 nationwide for internal medicine residency programs.

After becoming board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Marshall completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge in Morganton, North Carolina. Since completing her fellowship, she has worked in a variety of skilled nursing and acute rehabilitation facilities in several counties in North Carolina.

Dr. Marshall helps patients achieve the highest quality of life possible, allowing them to maintain their independence as long as they can. She specializes in treating osteoporosis, mobility problems, dementia, and other mental health issues and minimizes medication use.

Dr. Marshall grew up in New Jersey. She enjoys visiting her parents there and spending time at the Jersey Shore. She is married to Dr. Ryan Marshall, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and is the mother of four beautiful children who keep her young at heart.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking while listening to podcasts, sharing dinners with her family, riding her Peloton, reading, hiking, and spending time at home or on Biltmore Lake with her children, husband, and dog.

Dr. Marshall compassionately welcomes her patients to Golden Oak Medicine and looks forward to caring for them.

Golnosh Sharafsaleh MD, MS, AGSF, FAAFP

Geriatric Physician & Family Medicine

Golnosh Sharafsaleh, MD, MS, MBA, CPE, AGSF, FAAFP, is an exceptional geriatrics physician at Golden Oak Medicine in Asheville, North Carolina. She is double board-certified in geriatric and family medicine and has many years of experience caring for patients aged 55 and older.

Dr. Sharafsaleh received her Master of Science in gerontology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. She then earned her medical doctorate from Ross University School of Medicine.

Dr. Sharafsaleh completed residency training in family practice at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. After becoming board-certified in family medicine, she completed a one-year fellowship in geriatric medicine at Grant Medical Center. In 2022 Dr. Sharafsaleh went on to complete a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on healthcare administration from Fayetteville University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Also a certified life coach, Dr. Sharafsaleh implements coaching into her medical practice to support patients and their loved ones. She has worked as a primary care provider and geriatrics consultant for many years.

Dr. Sharafsaleh takes a holistic approach to care, helping patients age well, remain independent, and have the highest quality of life possible. Her areas of expertise are geriatric medicine, primary preventive care, multi-morbidity, frailty, polypharmacy, deprescribing, memory disorders, and delirium prevention.

Dr. Sharafsaleh maintains her advanced medical credentials with continuing education and professional development. She is a member of the American Geriatric Society Fellow and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In her free time, Dr. Sharafsaleh enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking in Asheville, NC. She is also a dedicated mother of three beautiful children and two dogs.

Dr. Sharafsaleh welcomes her patients to Golden Oak Medicine and enjoys helping them achieve exceptional health and wellness.

Tiffany Conerly

Registered Nurse& Practice Manager

Tiffany Conerly has been a Registered Nurse for over 15 years. Most of her experience has been in the ICU and PACU(recovery room).

She enjoys working with elders and is a passionate patient advocate. She provides direct patient care and ensures the office runs smoothly.

Ms. Conerly grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She resides in Black Mountain, NC, with her husband, daughter, two bonus children, and two labradoodle fur babies.

She enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, baking, traveling, and seeing as much live music as possible in her spare time.

Zarah Grace

Medical Virtual Assistant

Zarah Grace Makalintal works as a Medical Virtual Assistant. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Professional Civil Servant in the Philippines. Zarah works in the background, coordinating patient appointments, referrals, insurance coverage, procedure and medical office visits.

In her free time, she loves cooking, reading books and playing with her cats.

Stephanie Scruggs

Patient Coordinator

Stephanie is a dedicated Patient Coordinator with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare field. Stephanie excels at managing patient appointments, coordinating care, and ensuring a seamless experience for both patients and healthcare providers. Her expertise includes handling patient inquiries, facilitating insurance authorizations and maintaining accurate medical records.

In her role, Stephanie is passionate about creating a welcoming environment for patients, and she continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the overall success of the healthcare practice. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with her family.
