Dr. Kathleen Blaney Marshall MD

Geriatric Physician & Internal Medicine Physician

Kathleen Blaney, MD, is an experienced geriatrics physician at Golden Oak Medicine in Asheville, North Carolina. She is double board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine and offers a wide array of expertise caring for patients aged 55 and older.

Dr. Blaney received her medical doctorate from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed internal medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which consistently ranks in the top 10 nationwide for internal medicine residency programs.

After becoming board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Blaney completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge in Morganton, North Carolina. Since completing her fellowship, she has worked in a variety of skilled nursing and acute rehabilitation facilities in several counties in North Carolina.

Dr. Blaney helps patients achieve the highest quality of life possible, allowing them to maintain their independence as long as they can. She specializes in treating osteoporosis, mobility problems, dementia, and other mental health issues and minimizes medication use.

Dr. Blaney grew up in New Jersey. She enjoys visiting her parents there and spending time at the Jersey Shore. She is the mother of four beautiful children who keep her young at heart.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking while listening to podcasts, sharing dinners with her family, riding her Peloton, reading, hiking, and spending time at home or on Biltmore Lake with her children, her dog and 2 cats.

Dr. Golnosh Sharafsaleh MD, MS, MBA, CPE, DipABLM, FAAFP, AGSF

Geriatric Physician & Family Medicine

Golnosh Sharafsaleh, MD, MS, MBA, CPE, DipABLM, AGSF, FAAFP, is a geriatric and family medicine physician at Golden Oak Medicine in Asheville, North Carolina. She is triple board-certified in geriatric medicine, family medicine, and lifestyle medicine. Dr. Sharafsaleh earned her Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health and Master of Science in Gerontology from the University of Utah, followed by her Medical Doctorate from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency and a specialized one-year fellowship in geriatric medicine at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. In 2022, she further enhanced her expertise by completing a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on healthcare administration from Fayetteville University.

Dr. Sharafsaleh has developed particular expertise in cognitive disorders and memory loss, specializing in the early detection of cognitive decline through advanced neuroimaging techniques and cutting-edge blood biomarker analysis for Alzheimer’s-type dementia. Her practice incorporates the most current evidence-based treatment approaches for cognitive disorders, combining traditional medical interventions with lifestyle modifications that support brain health. Her board certification in Lifestyle Medicine reflects her expertise in using evidence-based therapeutic interventions that encompass whole food plant-based nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, substance avoidance, and positive social connections to prevent, treat, and often reverse chronic disease.

Dr. Sharafsaleh integrates coaching principles into her medical practice to support patients and their loved ones. Her holistic approach to care focuses on helping patients age well, maintain independence, and achieve the highest possible quality of life. She specializes in primary preventive care, multi-morbidity, frailty, polypharmacy, deprescribing, memory disorders, and delirium prevention and treatment.

Dr. Sharafsaleh has served as a geriatric fellowship program director, where she developed residency and fellowship programs in research, quality improvement, and education. She maintains her advanced medical credentials through ongoing professional development and is both a Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Sharafsaleh exemplifies the principles of lifestyle medicine in her own life. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, she now resides in Asheville, NC, where she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and staying active. She is dedicated to raising her three beautiful children and two dogs.

Dr. Sharafsaleh welcomes her patients to Golden Oak Medicine and enjoys helping them achieve exceptional health and wellness.

Tiffany Conerly

Registered Nurse& Practice Manager

Tiffany Conerly has been a Registered Nurse for over 15 years. Most of her experience has been in the ICU and PACU(recovery room).

She enjoys working with elders and is a passionate patient advocate. She provides direct patient care and ensures the office runs smoothly.

Ms. Conerly grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She resides in Black Mountain, NC, with her husband, daughter, two bonus children, and two labradoodle fur babies.

She enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, baking, traveling, and seeing as much live music as possible in her spare time.

Zarah Grace

Medical Virtual Assistant

Zarah Grace Makalintal works as a Medical Virtual Assistant. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Professional Civil Servant in the Philippines. Zarah works in the background, coordinating patient appointments, referrals, insurance coverage, procedure and medical office visits.

In her free time, she loves cooking, reading books and playing with her cats.

Stephanie Scruggs

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Stephanie Scruggs brings over 15 years of healthcare experience and a genuine love for helping others to the Golden Oak Medicine team. She believes that patient care is about so much more than taking vital signs and scheduling appointments—it’s about making people feel heard, comfortable, and truly cared for. Stephanie enjoys getting to know her patients, building lasting relationships, and bringing a little laughter and positivity into their day.

Originally from the beautiful Florida Keys, Stephanie traded palm trees and ocean breezes for the mountains of Western North Carolina. While she loves calling the mountains home, she’ll always be an island girl at heart! Give her sunshine, saltwater, and a beautiful beach, and she’s one happy girl.
Outside of the office, Stephanie enjoys life with her husband, Chris, and their children. She loves traveling, exploring new places, decorating, spending time with friends and family, and making memories along the way. Whether she’s planning her next beach getaway, enjoying a little retail therapy, or relaxing with a good cup of coffee, Stephanie appreciates life’s simple pleasures. And while she loves a good adventure, she certainly doesn’t mind a quiet day at home!

Stephanie believes kindness, compassion, and a good sense of humor can make all the difference, especially in healthcare. She takes pride in treating patients like family and making sure they leave feeling just as cared for as when they arrived—hopefully with a smile, too!

Hannah Allegra

Medical Administrative Coordinator

Hannah Allegra is a native of Fairview, North Carolina, and brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field. As the Medical Administrative Coordinator at Golden Oak Medicine, Hannah enjoys being one of the first friendly faces patients and families encounter. She has a passion for helping others, building meaningful relationships, and making sure every patient feels welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. She takes pride in being part of a team that truly values its patients and their families.

Outside of the office, Hannah stays busy with her husband of 19 years, Brett, and their two sons, Jordan and Graham. Their household wouldn’t be complete without their four-legged family members—two cats and two dogs, Bruno and Journee-Lynne. Life in a house full of boys and fur babies is never boring!

When she’s not working or keeping up with her busy family, Hannah enjoys staying active, working out, spending time with friends and family, and making memories with the people she loves most. She has a special love for the beach and takes every opportunity she can to escape to the sunshine, sand, and ocean. And when life finally slows down, she admits that one of her favorite hobbies is simply catching up on some much-needed sleep!
Hannah believes that kindness, compassion, a positive attitude, and a little sense of humor can go a long way. She loves being part of the Golden Oak Medicine family and looks forward to making every patient’s experience a positive one.
